Day 5 was spent at Pike's Peak. It was a 19 mile trip one way on small, curvy roads that hugged the side of the mountain a little too much for my taste. I felt like I was leaning away from the edge the whole way up and down. The sign at the bottom of the mountain said it was 35 degrees at the top, so we made sure to take our coats. When it got too cold, we went into the store they had and ate world famous Pike's Peak donuts.

Our temp guage read 40 degrees at the top.
We found some small patches of snow.
