Calling 911

Silas is fascinated w/ the phone and loves to get a hold of it and pretend he is talking to his Papaw. He was playing w/ it this morning and came running into the room to hand it to me and I noticed that he had turned it on. So, I turned it off and set it down. A few seconds later, it rings and it is the 911 operator saying she just got a call from our number! It is hard to get upset w/ a face like this:

The Mind of a 10 year old boy

The kids and I were sitting in the suburban in front of Academy waiting on Aaron and Henry to come back out. A man walked out of the store who "resembled" my dad and being the mom that I am, I said, "Hey Sophie, there's Papaw!" Sammy told me that it was not his papaw and I asked him how he knew that. He said, "Because he doesn't have brown skin like Papaw." So, I asked him what color of skin that man had and he said, "It is original or neutral." I then asked him what color of skin he had and he said, "I have pale skin, that's what Dad told me." Never a dull moment!

Piano Competition and a little cowboy

Sammy, Lizzy and Sadie had their piano competition last week and all of them did really well. Aaron recorded them practicing their pieces, since we are not allowed in the room during the actual competition. Lizzy and Sammy both scored a 1+ (which is the best score you can get) and Sadie scored a 1. Lizzy was chosen as alternate for her division! We are so proud of them!

Easter Pics

This was the best picture I could get of the boys.

A little better w/ the girls, Sophie just wouldn't smile.

Classic!

The Azaleas at Honor Heights Park

The kids are having spring fever and so am I, for that matter. We had a nice day last week and I decided to take the kids to the Honor Heights Park and see how the azaleas looked this year. We just took the day and had a picnic there. Here's a few pics I took. Silas didn't want to cooperate, of course.

Snow Storm in March

We had a freak snow storm in March that left about 6 inches of snow. It was so pretty and perfect for snow ball making, because it was really wet. By the time we got out of church the next day, it was all gone. The kids had a blast playing in it!
