Colorado Springs Trip - Day 1

Our 12 hour trip began at 4:00 a.m. last Sunday morning. We loaded the kids in the suburban and we were off. They were too excited to fall back to sleep immediately. I have to brag on them, because they were great travelers, since they were traveling old style. They had no TV and videos to watch, Nintendo DSs, or IPod's. Instead, they were forced to interact w/ each other and occupy themselves w/ their activity bags of things to do (color pages, trains and dinosaurs). The ride was pretty uneventful until we approached the mountains. It was so beautiful and we had ideal weather the whole vacation (40's in the mornings and 60's - 70's during the day).

This was our cabin for the week. It was in the foothills of Pikes Peak in a little town called Green Mountain Falls.

5 of the kids slept in this room: the girls in one bed and the boys in the other. There was another room downstairs, but it was really cold down there.

This was where Aaron and I slept, along w/ Silas:

And, this was the view from our window. I loved waking up each morning w/ the sun peeking over the mountain.
The first day we arrived, we had some visitors right outside our kitchen window.

We had to do some grocery shopping right when we got there, so this is what their Wal-Mart looked like. It was made like a cabin and was just as beautiful inside as it was outside. If our Wal-Mart looked like this, I wouldn't hate going so much!

St. Louis Trip

Aaron took 3 of the children to St. Louis back in July. They went to watch the Dodgers play, tour the Busch Brewery, and see the Arch. They had a great time! I've included a few photos from the trip.

Henry got a little nervous going up in the Arch.

Having a rootbeer at the end of the brewery tour:

My Baby turns 2!

Silas turns 2 on the August 24th. We will be celebrating his birthday in Colorado! I can't believe it has already been 2 years.
