Nicky's First Attempts At Walking

Nicky hasn't been and still really isn't interested in walking. But, I have been working w/ him and trying to get him to take a few more steps. He will only take about 3 or 4 steps before he decides he would just rather crawl :)

Tulsa Geoscience Center

I took the kids on a field trip to the Tulsa Geoscience Center a couple of weeks ago with our homeschool group. They learned about fossils, rocks and minerals and their different smells and markings, how earthquakes happen, how certain minerals and rocks glow under certain lighting, and they even got to make their own rubber bands w/ latex and vinegar. We had a great time and the people that work there are very nice and really made it fun for the kids. I am having trouble w/ Blogger uploading some of my pics and spacing them correctly, so hopefully, most of these will show:

Getting ready to make rubber bands:

Henry found some fossilized fangs, or no, wait that is the fossilized animal scat he is putting up near his nose :)

The black light room:

*Interesting fact we learned today - certain birds can see their prey's urine at night because it glows under certain light.*

Digging for fossils:

Hooray for the Red, White, and Blue

Soccer season kicked off last Saturday and we have added another soccer player to the mix. Miss Sophie couldn't wait to get out there in her first game and she scored one goal (well, actually two, but one didn't count because she picked the ball up w/ her hands)! Go Xtreme, Wildcats, and Bumblebees!

The First Day of Sring!

I happened to look on our calendar the other day to find this:

Henry wanted to make sure we all knew when the first day of Sring was:

I love that boy!

I love flowers,

especially purple flowers and my sweet 7 year old boy knows it. So, he brought these to me today before he came in from playing outside:

He handed them to me and said "I know how much you like purple flowers, mom, so I picked these for you." He's going to steal some girls heart someday!

A Mysterious Note

I received this mysterious note today:

I think Lizzy has been watching and reading too much Nancy Drew!!
