Glo Bowling

Lizzy and I went Glo Bowling last night w/ her Stars group from church. They got to bowl two games and have some pizza. She had a great time!

I guess this is the last time he gets bathed in the sink :)

OKC State Meet

We woke up this morning at 5:00 a.m. to travel to OKC for the state meet. The first thing Sophie asked me when she woke up is "Why is it still dark outside?" :) Both girls decided to just focus on the 100m today and they each did great! Sadie placed 1st in her heat and 3rd overall. She ran the best she has all season and gave it her all. She was determined to leave w/ a medal and that's just what she did. Lizzy placed 1st in the Preliminaries and got a close 2nd in the Finals. You'll see in the video that it was a hair that separated Lizzy from first. The winning time was 15.53 and Lizzy's was 15.54. It was the closest race she has run all season. We ended the meet w/ a trip to Norman to eat at our favorite Gyro place, The Greek House, and got home at about 6:30 or so. Also, we found out today that there will not be a Regional Meet in St. Louis after all, because they were unable to get it organized. So, today was the end of track season and I'd say the girls went out w/ a bang!

Can't imagine why my baby swing doesn't work

Crayon Roll Ups

I found this cute little sewing project for the girls to do this summer. We have been making crayon roll ups and plan on making enough to give to the children at DVIS. As with any project at first, we are somewhat slow. But, the more we make, the faster, more creative and better we are getting at it.

God hears . . .

the desires of a little 10 year old girls heart. Lizzy has been requesting blueberry muffins this past week. So, I made a Sour Cream Blueberry bread thinking that might take care of her craving. But, it didn't. This morning she asked if I would make muffins for breakfast tomorrow before we leave for her track meet (we are leaving at 6:00 a.m. for OKC). Aaron and I kind of chuckled and said that it wasn't going to happen. A couple of hours later, a good friend of mine from church called and said that she had just made our family some homemade blueberry muffins and would like to bring them by. She said that she made the tiny muffins just for the kids. I think it is amazing how God shows his love for his children! Thank you Theresa!

I need a nap!

This is what happens when Silas doesn't get his nap for the day. He falls asleep at the dinner table.

And, this is what happens when you fall asleep at the dinner table in our house:

OKC track meet

We spent this past Saturday in OKC. It was a timed final meet, which meant the girls needed to win their heat to possibly win a medal. Lizzy placed 1st in her heat in the 100m, but got 3rd overall. She was a little disappointed, but it is hard to know what you are up against in a timed final. Sadie placed 4th in her 100 heat and 5th in her 200 heat. Next week we will be back in OKC for the State Meet. There they will have to place in the top 6 to be able to advance to Regionals in Missouri.

Funny Pics

Here are some pics and video that didn't make the cut for my blog. Hope they give you a good chuckle. I know I sure had one:

Sadie as an old man:

Henry w/ his mouth open, again:

I guess one of the kids put this monkey on top of Nic thinking he would play w/ it and then took snapped a picture:

Aaron was trying to get Silas to smile:
I loved this goofy one of Aaron:

And, because I put one of him on here, I thought I should be fair and post this ridiculous one of me. Who knows what I was doing, yawning, sneezing, or my Popeye impression:

Henry is 7!

Henry was born 7 years ago on June 6th. He was due on the 14th, but the doctor decided to induce me. It's a good thing she did, because he was my biggest baby weighing 10 pounds 2 ounces. I remember when it was time to push and thinking this was my fourth baby, this should be no problem. After pushing for I don't know how long, I looked at my doctor and asked her why he wasn't coming out. When his head and shoulders finally emerged, I realized why. He was huge! He still is a pretty big kid compared to other kids his age. We are so happy God sent you to be a part of our family, Henry!

Here are just a few of my favorites of him:

East Central Meet

The track meet yesterday took place at East Central again. Lizzy took 1st in the 100m and 4th in the 200m. Sadie came in 4th in 100m and 5th in the 200m. You can tell both girls have gotten stronger and are coming out of their blocks quicker. They worked hard the week before this meet, running bleachers and doing strength training. So, they were very sore all week. Their hard work paid off for them!

Here are some more pics of the family. Meemaw and Papaw were able to come this weekend and watch them. The kids enjoyed having them there and weren't ready for them to go home. I know Meemaw and Papaw wanted to stay longer, too. We tried to talk them into moving back to Oklahoma!

Nic did so good yesterday. He liked being down on the ground and feeling the grass.

Silas was flirting with this teenage girl on the track team. He would sit in front of her or beside her and try to get her attention.

Who could resist this charmer?
