The correct way to wear flip flops for a 2 year old

Silas is in and out of the house all day long. So instead of trying to put tennis shoes on him 20 times a day, we bought him a pair of flip flops. He is able to put them on himself and come and go as he pleases. The only problem is how he puts them on. This particular day, he did put them on the RIGHT feet, just between the WRONG toes. Maybe he will start a new trend :)

And, they're off!!

Track season kicked off this weekend w/ the first meet at East Central High School in Tulsa. Both Lizzy and Sadie are running this year in the same events, but different divisions. This first meet was pretty laid back and they both did great. Lizzy placed 1st in the 100m and 3rd in the 200m. Lizzy got her best time ever in the 100m running it in 14.6 seconds. Sadie was very nervous about her first time running and had an oops by crossing into someone else's lane in the 100m. But despite all of that, she placed 3rd in the 100m and 4th in the 200m. Go Spikes!

I never thought . . .

that I would ever fall head over heels in love w/ a short, chubby, wrinkly, bald man. But, I have done it 4 times now.

And, who couldn't fall in love w/ someone who likes to do this :)

These were taken last weekend at Lizzy's soccer tournament. The rain drove us back into our vehicles for a bit and Aaron took the opportunity to capture the moment. Can't wait to show this one of Silas to his wife someday!

It's all in the look

I have started assigning weekly chores to each child. One week they may have kitchen duty and the next week is trash and feeding the animals. Henry was not happy to find out that one of his chores for the week was to sort all of the kids laundry. When he saw the pile he had to sort, he looked at me and said, "This is not my best day." I couldn't have said it better myself.
