Virus

A virus made its unwelcome appearance in our home this week. It started w/ the baby and Sadie. This is pretty much what we've been doing these past few days, laying around like a bunch of hound dogs.

Our upstairs is done!

Well, we finally have our upstairs complete (except for the bathroom). They laid the carpet on Monday and it looks great! Aaron did such a good job w/ everything. We haven't really been able to fully enjoy yet, because a stomach virus hit our family this week and the kids have been under the weather. We hope to have the boys moved up upstairs this weekend though.

Aaron built this himself:

New Pics

Here are a couple of new pics of Silas and Henry that I thought were cute:

Silas had this taken in his Sunday School Class.

Henry's 7 year old picture that I finally had made in September.

Sophie Belle

I just had to post this picture of Sophie:

This is what she looks like when she comes out of her room in the morning. She got a make-up kit for her birthday (thanks to Aunt Melissa and Uncle Lance) and can't seem to do w/out her make-up now. We were in the car a few days ago on our way to piano lessons, and I hear Sophie in the back seat say "Oh, I forgot to put my make-up on!" It's cute. . . for now :)

Saturday's Competition

Lizzy did very good playing her piece Saturday, but she was not chosen. :( They allowed me to go in during the competition, and I was able to video her performance. I've included it below. Her daddy and I are very proud of her and how far she has come! God has given her a wonderful gift!

Jr. Audition

Lizzy will be competing tomorrow (Saturday) in a Junior Audition. Pray for her, because she is nervous. This is the song she will be playing. She told me today at her piano lesson that Mrs. Hill had tears in her eyes at the end of her song. I don't know if it was because she played it so well, or that the song is so beautiful. We'll let you know the outcome . . .

Tickle Me Nicky

Nic loves to be tickled. He will start laughing before you even touch him. So cute!

Teeth and Feet

Nic has two more teeth!

And, I couldn't resist taking this picture of his little toes. He keeps them curled when he is sitting up :) Looks like he grabbed some of my hair, too!

Oklahoma History Center

The kids and I, along w/ my dad, headed to OKC to visit the Oklahoma History Center. They were having a homeschool day and on the spur of the moment, I decided to check it out. My dad was gracious enough to drop his plans for the day and tag along to help w/ the baby and Silas. There was a scavenger hunt where the children had to answer the questions about a few of the exhibits, a civil war reenactor, lots of hands on exhibits, candle making (when we got out there to do our candle, they had just ran out of wicks, so we didn't get to make one), and at the end of our visit, they gave us a gift for coming! We ended our day trip w/ a visit to POPS in Arcadia for an ice cold soda. Here are some pics of our trip, some are interesting, some not so interesting :)

We were right across the street from the Capitol:

Does anybody remember this guy? I always wanted one of Don Woods' sketches of Gusty as a kid.

Have you ever seen a necklace made from buffalo teeth?

See - they did go to school today:

I don't know who these boys are in the front, but they didn't seem to mind that I was taking a picture :)

A pink washer and dryer from the 1950's:

At least I don't have to use one of these to wash clothes for 7 children:
