Shadow Puppets

We have been studying the poet Robert Louis Stevenson for a few weeks now in homeschool. Yesterday we read one of his more famous poems titled "My Shadow." So, we learned about light and how it travels and how shadows are made. Here are the children each making a different "animal" shadow. See if you can guess what they are!
Sadie is making a butterfly.

Sophie said her shadow was a cow. I can see that, can't you?

Henry's is a deer.

Samuel told me that his is a Serval. For those of you (including me) who do not know what a Serval is, it is a large cat w/ long ears that lives in Africa. He is really into reading about jaguars, mountain lions, cheetahs and other large cats lately.

Lizzy's shadow is a rabbit. They had a lot fun trying to do all sorts of shapes and animals.
